This year, to celebrate its five-year anniversary, hóPLAY has pulled out all the stops to offer more opportunities to the independent studios participating in the festival.
In addition to the €25,000 that will be divided amongst the five winning video games in each one of the Contest categories, this year hóPLAY has added more prizes offered by the sponsors of the event.
For one, Steel Media will offer various prizes to the winners of the first Big Indie Pitch held in Spain. The three prizes in the amount of $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 will take the form of advertising in the group’s specialized video game media, with a monthly readership of more than 45 million. The event will give hóPLAY finalists the opportunity to present their video games to international journalists as Pocket Gamer, Wired, Observer, IndieHaven, AppSpy, Ready Up or 148apps.
Also this year, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as a hóPLAY sponsor, is offering various prizes in the form of credit for its Cloud platform. The biggest prize is a $100,000 credit for companies that meet specific conditions.
With these prizes, hóPLAY is offering the three core pillars for any indie studio: financial assistance, international visibility and technological scalability. Good luck to all participants!
